Coming to rock your world in Tel Aviv

Chris Rock, one of the greatest standup comedians of all time and the funniest people in the world is going on a rare, highly awaited tour for the first time in 9 years. One of his few stops will be in Tel Aviv.

The hilarious comedian has put on a new live act, after nearly a decade of focusing on television and film. Chris Rock will make his first ever live on stage appearance in Israel as part of his 2017 “Total Blackout” tour.

Born in 1965, he made his breakthrough on SNL (Saturday Night Live) starring next to Adam Sandler, David Spade and Chris Farley. Eddie Murphy helped accelerate his stardom by giving him a role in Beverly Hills Cop 2. Since then it’s been a long line of success, from Lethal Weapon 4, Madagascar, Scary Movie, Nurse Betty and the list goes on. He’s hosted the Academy Awards twice and has also written, directed and produced several movies and TV shows. Despite all this, Chris Rock has and always will shine brightest where he truly belongs, on stage with a microphone.

His previous standup acts: Bigger and Blacker, Born Suspect, Bring the Pain and Kill the Messenger all broke records and are considered to be classics, with bits that are still quoted today.
Rock is often compared to the greatest comedians in the field, alongside Jerry Seinfeld, Louis CK and Dave Chappelle (all of which he’s also collaborated with).

He made it to the top 5 in Rolling Stone magazine’s 50 greatest comedians of all time.

When he gets on stage it’s like seeing a boxer, a preacher and a poet all bundled together into one man. Chris delivers powerful, fast paced, side-splitting punches. His views on relationships, race and politics challenge his listeners and make them rethink everything they know. Rock dares to cross boundaries with his material and is not afraid to shock and surprise.

In an interview he recently gave to Rolling Stone magazine, he talked about his divorce after 18 years of marriage and how he decided to devote himself to standup again. According to him, these events gave rise to the world tour in which he will be performing in Tel Aviv.

Catch Chris live on January 8th at the Menorah Mivtachim Arena.
